Introducing MindFlow: Your Time to Recharge and Reset

Here at Well Therapy, I believe that mental health isn’t about fixing all of life’s problems (wouldn’t that be nice?)—it’s about learning how to navigate them with a little more ease and a lot more confidence.

One way I help people do that is through MindFlow, a relaxed, welcoming group hypnotherapy session where you can press pause, clear your mental clutter, and leave feeling refreshed and ready to face life’s next chapter.

What’s MindFlow All About?

Think of MindFlow as a little pocket of calm in the middle of a busy world. The session is simple: you arrive, settle in on a yoga mat (either lying down or sitting, whatever’s comfy), and I guide you through a journey of gentle relaxation and visualization. You don’t have to do anything or need any special skills or experience; just show up as you are, ready to let go and recharge.

How Does a MindFlow Session Unfold?

Every session kicks off with a guided meditation to bring you into the room, let go of the day’s busyness, and start finding your centre. We’ll do some calming breathing exercises to help you settle in, slow down, and feel at ease.

Once you’re nice and grounded, we’ll ease into progressive muscle relaxation (PMR)—a fancy way of saying we’ll work through your body, one area at a time, releasing any tightness or tension. The goal is to melt away the physical stress, which has the incredible effect of quieting your mind, too.

Then, I introduce a hypnotic deepener to help you drift even further into a relaxed state. This is where the magic happens: as you relax, your brain waves start to slow down, moving from the busy “beta” waves we use all day into the calmer “theta” waves we usually reach right before sleep or when daydreaming. Theta waves are ideal for hypnotherapy because they open up your mind to positive suggestions and deeper reflection without the usual mental chatter.

Visualization and Positive Suggestions for Change

In this peaceful, open state, I guide you through visualizations and positive suggestions tailored to a specific focus for each session, whether it’s stress relief, confidence, clarity, or just feeling a bit more balanced. These positive suggestions sink in on a subconscious level, so they tend to stay with you long after the session, gently shifting your outlook and supporting real change in your daily life.

Suggestions are used as gentle prompts or affirmations aimed at guiding your subconscious mind toward positive change. When you’re in a relaxed, receptive state, like in hypnosis, your mind is more open to new ideas and ways of thinking without the usual resistance or overthinking. Suggestions can help reshape old patterns, ease mental blocks, and encourage healthier responses to life’s challenges. It’s like planting seeds of intention that, over time, can grow into lasting shifts in perspective, behaviour, and overall well-being.

Gently Coming Back to Reality

As the session wraps up, I’ll gradually guide everyone back into a more alert state, allowing you to return to normal feeling grounded, refreshed, and centred. People often say they feel calm yet energized, with a sense of clarity and lightness they didn’t have when they walked in. It’s the kind of experience you carry with you, bringing a bit of that peace and balance into the rest of your week.

MindFlow is for anyone looking to take a break from life’s hectic pace, breathe, and reconnect. Whether you’re new to hypnotherapy or meditation or have been practicing for years, MindFlow offers a gentle, safe space to unwind and recharge. No fancy equipment or prior knowledge is needed—just come as you are.

Frequently Asked Questions About MindFlow:

  1. What if I fall asleep during the session?

No worries at all! It’s quite common to feel so relaxed in hypnotherapy that you might doze off. I’ll guide you back at the end, so even if you drift a bit, you’ll gently reawaken with the rest of the group. Plus, your subconscious mind is still absorbing the positive suggestions, so you’ll still gain the benefits.

  1. Will I be able to “snap out of it” if I want to?

Yes, absolutely. Hypnosis in MindFlow is a gentle, natural state similar to a deep daydream or meditation. If at any point you feel the need to “come back,” you’re fully able to do so. You’re in control the entire time.

  1. What does being “hypnotized” feel like?

People describe it as feeling deeply relaxed, as if you’re floating or even just pleasantly heavy and grounded. You’re still aware of your surroundings, but your mind becomes calm, quiet, and open—almost like you’re listening to a story with your eyes closed.

  1. What if I’ve never tried hypnotherapy before?

That’s totally okay! MindFlow is designed to be gentle and beginner-friendly. I’ll guide you step-by-step, and there’s nothing you need to “do” except relax and listen. Even if it’s all new, you’ll likely feel right at home in no time.

  1. Can hypnotherapy make me do something against my will?

Definitely not! Hypnotherapy is simply a way of calming and focusing your mind. You’re always in control, and your mind will only take on suggestions that align with your values and goals. MindFlow is about supporting you, never about pushing you in any direction.

  1. What should I bring to a MindFlow session?

Just yourself, comfortable clothing, and maybe a blanket or pillow if you’d like extra comfort. Everything else, from yoga mats to soothing background music, is taken care of so you can focus on relaxing and recharging.

  1. Is there anyone who shouldn't do hypnotherapy/MindFlow?

Hypnotherapy is generally safe for most people, but there are a few situations where it may not be recommended. Hypnotherapy might not be suitable for individuals with certain mental health conditions that affect perception of reality, such as schizophrenia or certain types of psychosis, as hypnosis can sometimes increase confusion or cause distress in these cases. Additionally, people with severe dissociative disorders or those who may have a high tendency to dissociate (i.e., feeling disconnected from themselves or their surroundings) may not be ideal candidates, as they might find it difficult to stay grounded during the session. Feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions about this.
